Meet Matthew.
Matthew (he, him, they) has been guiding yoga classes since 2014 after he finished his 500 hour Modo Hot Yoga training in Kelowna, BC, Canada. He has since completed a 100 hour Vinyasa training (Modo Flow), a 100 hour Fitness training (Modo Fit), a 30 hour Yoga Nidra training (Semperviva Yoga College). Over the last 6 years Matthew has dedicated much of his time to the study of yoga and anatomy and has guided over 3000 yoga and fitness classes!
“Matthew’s class was awesome! Instruction was so helpful, learning why the muscles were doing what they were doing helped me understand my yoga practice. Amazing. Empowering.”
– Idris, student
Matthew is passionate about bio-mechanics and an intentional movement practice. This makes each of his classes unique as he bring you yoga practices that are themed on waking up certain muscle groups, particular yogic principles, or a daily intention for you to bring into your life. Matthew is passionate about offering accessible yoga sequences (no headstands here!) that help everyday people begin to understand the connection between the yoga postures and their bodies.
Matthew is also a musician and has been performing professionally for over 10 years. One thing that makes Matthew unique is his Live Music + Calm Yoga classes where he will guide you through a slow paced yoga class called Yin Yoga while simultaneously performing live music for you to listen to as you practice!
With respect Matthew acknowledges that the land he is living on is the unceded territory of Secwepemc Nation.
